New mbp and other news
April 26th, 2010
I’m finally migrating to newer mbp now and that means I’ll be able to test Snow Leopard support properly.
In other news, I’m rewriting the pcsx2/mac wrapper completely in Cocoa to handle plugin, bios installation from in-app. For now, I’m also hoping to leverage Sparkle framework to handle automatic updates and at least Cg installation from in-app.
This doesn’t mean that x11 is going away, it just will have additional Cocoa gui on top
To clarify, the main pcsx2/mac gui will still be gtk/x11(unless I manage to properly run aqua port of gtk). The wrapper will just simplify launching pcsx2, i.e. launch x11, check for presence of necessary libs, etc…

That’s great news! Do you when we can look forward to a sneak peek of this new Cocoa GUI? I hope the MBP is treating you well!

As my aims are quite modest right now, i.e. the app should only allow to copy bios/plugins in proper placeholders and update plugins directly, I hope for a quick release, but real life commitments can affect this
