Unfortunately, for the last couple of months I didn’t have much time to work on pcsx2/mac and that’s why the release is getting delayed. So current timeline is it’s done when it’s done.
I’ve fixed one of the issues though and releasing the new PAD plugin which will be used for 0.9.7, should offer better compatibility as that’s the official linux PAD plugin now.
So, for 0.9.7 release I’m planning end april as a release window. Mostly because I have a week off and finally can do some final bug chasing. Just wanted to let you know
And another release to close off my holiday week :p The zzogl plugin has been updated to svn r3536 which should fix quite a few compatibility issues and is closer to what will be used for 0.9.7 release. You can download the regular plugin dmg here. Just to remind about the installation process here’s the link for the old youtube plugin installation video
There was a problem with zzogl not showing some elements of the gui, e.g. arrow in ffx menu so that’s one of the things resolved
So, just to update, 0.9.7 compiles fine, most of the bugs have been rooted out, so it’s progressing nicely. Just a small preview, here’re first several minutes of ffx. Doesn’t crash after the first fmv anymore
ZZOgl has also been updated to match the more recent svn, so the video is running pcsx2 0.9.7 beta 2 equivalent pretty much.
Apologies for this but I’ve been working on 0.9.7 today and this led to fixing a very big performance problem in 0.9.6. Please redownload the package again, this will include the updated binary. The performance difference should be 25% to 75% faster than before. For once, I can now play ffx full speed
Enjoy!
P.S. The first fmv for ffx is still broken, as 0.9.7 is booting bios already, I’m spending most of my time on 0.9.7 but I still have it on my ToDo list.
The package has been just built and ready for delivery. The only thing left is to set up the SL virtual machine in vmware to test that the package works properly on empty SL machine and this should be released.
In other news, porting work has just started on 0.9.7 current svn. You can follow some progress if impatient here: Activity
I’ve fixed had some time to work on pcsx2/mac as you might have noticed and the last positive thing to come out of this is persona games compatibility. They should be fixed and running in the upcoming release.
Just an intro teaser for the time being, fmv’s are getting better and better(ffx ones shouldn’t have black lines anymore btw)
I’ve fixed the issue with the zerospu2 on 10.6 and all other plugins seem to be working fine, So I’m going to release a new package soon including zzogl r213 which has been requested often in the forums.
I will keep the leopard package online but from now onwards I won’t be checking backward compatibility much.
P.S. I’m working on ffx freeze problem but no luck so far, will keep you posted
So, after toying with the idea of drupal for a couple of months I’ve decided to keep the wordpress Having also set up a permanent redirect from pcsx2-mac.quant0r.com this means that all old links are valid.
I also enabled Akismet finally, it was malfunctioning apparently, so should be able to read comments now
So, the new domain is up, but pcsx2mac.net at the moment just points to a default page.
Going forward, I’ve decided to use redmine as the main issue tracker and repository viewer for the projects. The official link is redmine.pcsx2mac.net, ZZogl and pcsx2mac have been added successfully.
The repositories have basic authentication enabled, read-only access is available for everyone, push access will be automatically granted for redmine developer users(not that I have any volunteers yet )
